A Word From the Peanut Gallery…It’s Not That Simple


peanut freeAs far as I’m concerned, food allergies can be officially added to the list of epidemic conditions in America.  When I was a child I didn’t know one single person with an allergy to peanuts.  We probably would all have starved to death without ample access to peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.  Peanut butter was a primary staple in most homes with small children in those days.

Today there is an estimated 1.2 million children (and counting) with peanut allergies and, in self-defense, our schools have made allowances for “Peanut Free” classrooms in order to shield the allergic from any trace of peanuts whatsoever.  What in the world is going on with our kids?

Many doctors treating children with autism spectrum disorders believe that these allergic reactions are directly related to an individual’s ability to detoxify. Children with peanut and other allergies have compromised immune systems and are poor detoxifiers.  Most have gut problems, including fungal and other infections. Most are male.

So if detoxifying is the problem how do we detoxify?

Refraining from peanuts is not the only answer.  There isn’t a magic pill that you can get from your doctor or a simple supplement that you can buy from the health food store.   It doesn’t totally rely on an organic, gluten-free diet.  A MAJOR part of your protocol MUST include  hydrating with the RIGHT water….and lots of it.  Water isn’t “just water” no more than food is “just food” or air is “just air”.   Your water needs to be as close to PERFECT as you can get your hands on.  Kangen water is your answer.  Does it really make sense to you to offer water that is laden with chemicals (including BPA) to a child already having detox issues?  If so, then you need to go back to the drawing board.

Tap Water Causing Food Allergies?

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there has been an  18%  increase in food allergy cases between 1997 and 2007.     Peanut allergies tripled between 1997 and 2008.   The most common food allergens are milk, eggs, peanuts, wheat, tree nuts, soy, fish, and shellfish.   There should be no doubt in your mind that there is something dramatically wrong for these stats to be rising at this speed.  According to a new study published by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI), pesticides and tap water could be to blame.  

The study reported that high levels of dichlorophenols,  a chemical used in pesticides and to chlorinate water, when found in the human body, are associated with food allergies.

The American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology writes:

“Our research shows that high levels of dichlorophenol-containing pesticides can possibly weaken food tolerance in some people, causing food allergy,” said allergist Elina Jerschow, M.D., M.Sc., ACAAI fellow and lead study author. “This chemical is commonly found in pesticides used by farmers and consumer insect and weed control products, as well as tap water.”

“Previous studies have shown that both food allergies and environmental pollution are increasing in the United States,” said Dr. Jerschow. “The results of our study suggest these two trends might be linked, and that increased use of pesticides and other chemicals is associated with a higher prevalence of food allergies.”

Einstein defined insanity as continuing to do the same thing over and over again while expecting  a different result.   If we want the next generation to have a shot at good health we MUST make changes.  The mere thought that dichlorophenols is used as a pesticide AND to chlorinate our tap water should be enough to wake the dead on this subject and it should be totally unacceptable to consumers.
