Sleep Apnea On The Rise & $10 Billion Behind it! What’s Going On?

sample apnea

Sleep study clinics are popping up all across America.  Today there are almost 3,000 clinics with hundreds more in the works for certification and approval to do sleep disorder diagnostics.

A few short years ago we’d never even heard of sleep apnea and yet millions of people weren’t mysteriously dying in their sleep (as we’re led to believe will happen). Today it is reported that 5% of Americans suffer with some sort of serious sleep disorder (with “many more not yet diagnosed”).   What in the world is going on?

The Mayo Clinic defines sleep apnea this way:

Causes of obstructive sleep apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the muscles in the back of your throat relax. These muscles support the soft palate, the triangular piece of tissue hanging from the soft palate (uvula), the tonsils, the side walls of the throat and the tongue.

When the muscles relax, your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in, and you can’t get an adequate breath in. This may lower the level of oxygen in your blood. Your brain senses this inability to breathe and briefly rouses you from sleep so you can reopen your airway. This awakening is usually so brief that you don’t remember it.

Now that we understand the definition of sleep apnea and how this disorder blocks the airways, etc.,  aren’t you even a little bit curious about what causes it in the first place?

For a short season, sleep apnea was considered to be a condition (almost exclusively) of overweight, middle-aged men.  Today we have sleep study facilities exclusively for young children…overweight and otherwise. Clearly this isn’t just a problem of overweight, middle-aged men.  We’ve got a serious problems!

I’m not a physician and I don’t attempt to give medical advice; I’m just a common-sense-kind-of-gal.  In this case, my common sense is thirsting for the root cause of this mysterious 21st century medical condition defined as sleep apnea.

COMMON SENSE?

I believe that your complex CPAP breathing unit is serving you well by forcing air into your airway (masking your symptoms) but it sure isn’t helping you identify the root cause of your problem.  The “mainstream medical” community has become experts at masking symptoms with pharmaceuticals and treatments for everything that ails you.  When we can’t put a label on your problem, there’s no need to worry.  We’ll write a prescription for depression and/or a narcotic for pain.   Personally I’d rather know what’s causing my problem in the first place so that I can (hopefully) correct it INSTEAD of managing (and masking)  my symptoms. Darn! There goes my common sense again!

A SIMPLE SOLUTION?

I routinely work with people of all ages on dehydration-related health issues. I introduce a hydration protocol using  lots of ionized, alkalized, electrically charged, healthy water (versus tap, bottled or R/O) and we evaluate changes that they experience as they begin to re-hydrate the body AND oxygenate the cells after years of chronic dehydration with the wrong kind of fluids.  Time and time again I’ve heard amazing reports back that include the following:

  • People no longer snoring (spouses confirm!)
  • No more sleep apnea –  no more need for CPAP (Dr. confirmations)
  • Sleeping peacefully through the night for the first time in years
  • Regained the sense of smell
  • No longer suffering with allergies or asthma
  • A strong and stable voice again
  • Improved hearing – tinnitus gone
  • No more acid re-flux (acid can’t be good on the airways)
  • and on and on…..

It’s amazing to see what the body is capable of doing for itself if you just give it what it needs.  Deprive the body of what it needs and you’ll pay the ultimate price for it!

The need for a CPAP device just might be the least of your problems!

The typical prescribed fix for apnea is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine that pumps pressurized air through a face-mask, forcing the user to breathe throughout the night. Prices for the machines range from less than $200 to more than $5000, with an estimated US market of about $10 billion annually.

NO WAY TO AVOID IT!

Nothing on the planet (in spite of creative advertising efforts) replaces the body’s need for lots of healthy water.  You can’t fill a fish tank with Diet Coke and expect your fish to live nor can you water your plants with Energy drinks and expect them to grow.  So why do you think that there are viable replacements for water for the human body?  Hmm…

Contrary to popular belief, not all water is created equal.  If you want to experience a healthy turn-around, you’ll need healthy water that is structured in such a way that your body can  absorb it at the cellular level the way it is intended to do!  It takes serious water to do that job!

Hydrate your airways (and all of the rest of you) and see what happens!  You never know…you just might be able to retire your CPAP contraption AND keep a happy spouse all at the same time!

Are you willing to try something as simple as changing your water for improved health or are you too closed-minded to consider the possibilities?

Try it for FREE….see for yourself!

The only thing you stand a chance of losing is your CPAP!

Experts Blame Dehydration for Stroke Damage? It’s About Time!

stroke brain

Headlines in a an article published by Everyday Health reads  “Dehydration Leads to Greater Stroke Damage”.  More accurately it should read  “Dehydration Leads to Greater Stroke Risk“.  Dehydration is your enemy and it’s time to give it the blame that it deserves. The human brain is 85% water and the blood is 90% water.  When the body is deprived of water, the consequences go well beyond what most people understand.  We’ve replaced the body’s NEED for water with a beverage-of-choice and we no longer recognize the signs of dehydration.

Dr. Paul Bendheim, a clinical professor of neurology from the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, says there are no hard-and-fast rules for staying well-hydrated, despite recommendations to drink eight glasses of water each day.   That’s a no-brainer! Obviously the amount of water each individual needs depends on a number of factors;  activity, weight and status of health just to name a few.  Dr. Bendheim goes on to say, “prior research found that the majority of people are dehydrated when they have a stroke, but it’s not clear why”.  How in the world can it not be clear why people are dehydrated?  It’s interesting to note that most heart attacks and strokes happen in the middle of the night when the body is the most dehydrated.  It’s a very good thing to drink water before you retire for the night!

The 8 Glasses of Water a Day Rule is just THE MINIMUM needed to keep your organs functioning…but it sure isn’t enough to keep your blood hydrated and your veins free and clear!

If you’re active, if you’re sick or if you’re overweight,  you need a whole lot more than just eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day to equip the body to battle things like stroke or high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, and a multitude of other conditions!  Water is positively key to your prevention and recovery…you were wired that way!

Best selling author of “Your body’s Many Cries for Water” and “You’re not sick, you’re thirsty“, Dr.  F. Batmanghelidj, has this to say about water:

“So share this blessing of God {water} with others, and take a stand to stop the present health care ‘sting’ against those who do not yet know that chronic dehydration is the root cause of most degenerative diseases of the human body”

Seniors are generally more dehydrated than younger people primarily because  we lose our sense of thirst as we age.  We may need to be reminded to drink instead of waiting for the brain to trigger thirst.  Lots of people set alarms to be reminded to take medications, perhaps it’s time to set up a reliable reminder to prompt you to drink water too.  Relying on your sense of thirst won’t do the trick.  By the time the average person “feels” thirsty, they are already chronically dehydrated and ready for disaster.

Now that you know that stroke (among LOTS OF OTHER THINGS) can be triggered or worsened by dehydration, don’t you think it’s time to do something about it?

How much research do you need to read before you take action to properly hydrate your body with W A T E R?  It all comes down to basic biology.  No amount of consuming any other fluids can replace the body’s need for water.  In fact, most choice beverages actually cause the body to work harder just to rid itself of toxins introduced by replacing water with another beverage.

If water is so important, don’t you think the kind of water you drink might be important too?  Of course it is!  It doesn’t make much sense to consume water that has no minerals whatsoever (causes the body to deplete itself of minerals from within which leads to degeneration) and it doesn’t make much sense to drink water that is laced with the chemicals necessary to make human waste potable.  After you make the decision to consume the amount of water your body needs; you’ll need to decide what kind of SAFE and HEALTHY water you’ll be introducing to your body.  There aren’t a whole lot of options when you look at it that way!  Electrolyzed Reduced Water (ERW) is the ONLY way to go for me and my family.   After doing our own research; the choice was easy for us. How much research (and testimonials) do you need to see before you embrace Electrolyzed Reduced Water as being the most beneficial water for the human body?

I know that my days are numbered but I don’t buy in to the idea that I’m supposed to rot prior to my death, so I’m giving my body what it needs to avoid things like stroke, cancer, arthritis, diabetes, etc., instead of looking for a pill to fix my problem later.  After all, there is no cure for any disease whatsoever.  With that in mind, it’s time to FIGHT FOR HEALTH!

Do yourself, your brain (and the rest of your body) and your family a favor.  HYDRATE NOW!

Do You Struggle With Kidney Stones? You Have No Excuse!

According to UCLA scientists, 1 in 10 Americans now develop kidney stones.   In 1994 only 1 in 20 Americans developed kidney stones.  With a 100% increase in people suffering from this painful condition within a few short years, we can safely chalk this up as yet another sign of deteriorating health in America.

Here is what the pros are saying about this “common health condition”

“Kidney stones are becoming a very common health condition in the United States,” said lead researcher Dr. Charles Scales Jr., a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs clinical scholar in the David Geffen School of Medicine departments of urology and medicine at UCLA. They are more common than heart disease, stroke and diabetes, he added.

The authors assert that these findings have important implications for the public as well as health care providers. “People should consider the increased risk of kidney stones as another reason to maintain a healthy lifestyle and body weight,” says Christopher S. Saigal, MD, MPH, senior author, principal investigator within RAND Health for the Urologic Diseases in America project and associate professor of urology, David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. But physicians need to rethink how to treat, and more importantly, prevent kidney stones.”

This study goes on to suggest that obesity, diabetes, and gout all increase the risk of kidney stones.  That should come as no surprise to you if you consider the root cause of THOSE conditions. The culprit is acid overload in the body and alkalinity is your answer.   Get rid of the acid and you’ll stop struggling with kidney stones.  It really is that simple.

How can you reduce the acid in your body?  Clearly your diet is a key factor in fighting acidity.  Eating alkaline foods will go a long way in balancing acidity. But acidic foods aren’t your only enemy. Drinking fluids that are highly acidic are a big part of the problem too.

Most people know that beverages like coffee and soda are acidic. That’s a no-brainer.  Some kidney stone sufferers have traded soda for water already.  Unfortunately most people don’t know that the water they drink can be very acidic too.  Most commercially bottled water, tap water, reverse osmosis water… are ALL highly acidic and are ultimately doing serious damage to your body.

Unless massive amounts of kale every day for the rest of your life appeals to you, you will likely struggle with dietary changes significant enough to make a difference in your alkaline levels.  At least not enough to make a difference for your kidney stone problem.  To aid in the alkaline process try drinking lots of Kangen Water®.   This ionized, alkalized (not alkaline), electrically charged, anti-oxidant water is “just what the doctor ordered” for you acidic body.

For some odd reason, most Americans would much rather seek the advice of a physician where they’d be given a barrage of tests to confirm what is already “suspected” and  then given a pill or two to combat the problem.   After all, that’s the American way…always looking for a quick fix and magic pill instead of taking action to fight for their own health.  Kidney stones are a common sense problem and the solution is as simple as making a few lifestyle changes.

As for me, I’d rather focus on PREVENTION.  Raise your alkaline level and you’ll fend off LOTS of ugly ailments.  Go Kangen Water®!
