WARNING! Sleep Apnea On The Rise…What’s Going On???

Sleep study clinics are popping up all across America.  Today there are almost 3,000 clinics with hundreds more in the works for certification and approval to do sleep disorder diagnostics.

A few short years ago we’d never even heard of sleep apnea and yet millions of people weren’t mysteriously dying in their sleep (as we’re led to believe will happen). Today it is reported that 5% of Americans suffer with some sort of serious sleep disorder (with “many more not yet diagnosed”).   What in the world is going on?

The Mayo Clinic defines sleep apnea this way:

Causes of obstructive sleep apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the muscles in the back of your throat relax. These muscles support the soft palate, the triangular piece of tissue hanging from the soft palate (uvula), the tonsils, the side walls of the throat and the tongue.

When the muscles relax, your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in, and you can’t get an adequate breath in. This may lower the level of oxygen in your blood. Your brain senses this inability to breathe and briefly rouses you from sleep so you can reopen your airway. This awakening is usually so brief that you don’t remember it.

Now that we understand the definition of sleep apnea and how this disorder blocks the airways, etc.,  aren’t you even a little bit curious about what causes it in the first place?

For a short season, sleep apnea was considered to be a condition (almost exclusively) of overweight, middle-aged men.  Today we have sleep study facilities exclusively for young children…overweight and otherwise. Clearly this isn’t just a problem of overweight, middle-aged men.  We’ve got a serious problems!

I’m not a physician and I don’t attempt to give medical advice; I’m just a common-sense-kind-of-gal.  In this case, my common sense is thirsting for the root cause of this mysterious 21st century medical condition defined as sleep apnea.

COMMON SENSE?

I believe that your complex CPAP breathing unit is serving you well by forcing air into your airway (masking your symptoms) but it sure isn’t helping you identify the root cause of your problem.  The “mainstream medical” community has become experts at masking symptoms with pharmaceuticals and treatments for everything that ails you.  When we can’t put a label on your problem, there’s no need to worry.  We’ll write a prescription for depression and/or a narcotic for pain.   Personally I’d rather know what’s causing my problem in the first place so that I can (hopefully) correct it INSTEAD of managing (and masking)  my symptoms. Darn! There goes my common sense again!

A SIMPLE SOLUTION?

I routinely work with people of all ages on dehydration-related health issues. I introduce a hydration protocol using  lots of ionized, alkalized, electrically charged, healthy water (versus tap, bottled or R/O) and we evaluate changes that they experience as they begin to re-hydrate the body AND oxygenate the cells after years of chronic dehydration with the wrong kind of fluids.  Time and time again I’ve heard amazing reports back that include the following:

NO WAY TO AVOID IT!

Nothing on the planet (in spite of creative advertising efforts) replaces the body’s need for lots of healthy water.  You can’t fill a fish tank with Diet Coke and expect your fish to live nor can you water your plants with Energy drinks and expect them to grow.  So why do you think that there are viable replacements for water for the human body?  Hmm…

Contrary to popular belief, not all water is created equal.  If you want to experience a healthy turn-around, you’ll need healthy water that is structured in such a way that your body can  absorb it at the cellular level the way it is intended to do!  It takes serious water to do that job!

Hydrate your airways (and all of the rest of you) and see what happens!  You never know…you just might be able to retire your CPAP contraption AND keep a happy spouse all at the same time!

Magnesium Deficiency Epidemic? Of course! That’s a No-Brainer!

Most of us are not getting enough magnesium for optimum health.  Symptoms of low magnesium levels can include fatigue, headaches, depression, lethargy, anxiety, behavioral disturbances, loss of memory and cognitive function, loss of appetite, nausea and even seizures.  Magnesium plays a HUGE metabolic role in our overall health and yet; most of us are living with dangerously low levels!

There is one culprit to blame for our low magnesium levels that is almost always overlooked…WATER.  Potassium, calcium and magnesium are minerals naturally found in water and water is intended to the primary source of our supply of these minerals.  Unfortunately, most of us are drinking water that has absolutely no minerals whatsoever in an effort to remove other harmful things.

Most bottled water has undergone reverse osmosis treatment which means that all of the trace minerals like potassium, magnesium and calcium are long gone.  Water without minerals is worthless to the human body.  You won’t die of thirst if you replace water with  another not-so-healthy choice, but your body won’t function properly without healthy water naturally laced with minerals.

If you’re like 75% of Americans who are low in magnesium then you need to STOP DRINKING BOTTLED WATER and replace it instead with water that can actually benefit the human body,   The fact that water is naturally laced with minerals was not a design error and eliminating these minerals will cost you.

There are many reasons to stop drinking bottled water other than your need for calcium, potassium and magnesium.   Here are just a few to get you thinking:

1.  It is costing you a small fortune.  You’re spending anywhere from $5.00 to  $10.00  a gallon on bottled water ($5:00 if you buy in bulk and up to $10.00 a gallon if you buy individual bottles.   The average American spends $640.00 a year on bottled water alone and most of America is chronically dehydrated because they aren’t consuming enough water. .  Imagine what they would spend if they actually consumed the amount of water the body needs!

2.  It’s destroying the health of our children (and their parents).  There is no disputing the chemical exposure that comes from drinking out of toxic plastic bottles.  In time, you (and the next generation) WILL pay the price for this exposure.  It isn’t a matter of  if…it’s a matter of when.

3.  Most bottled water IS tap water. Companies like Coca-Cola, Nestle and Pepsi all tap the local water sources and then sell it back to you.  Don’t let labels that contain words like “Spring” or “Natural” fool you.  How does it feel to be buying water twice?

4.  It’s wasteful.  It takes 4 liters of water (approximately 135 ounces) to produce a one liter bottle of water.  Three liters to produce the bottle and 1 more to fill it up.  It also takes one cup of crude oil to produce the same bottle.  With billions of water bottles being produced and sold each year, it’s no wonder we have concerns over our resources.

5.  It’s destroying our planet.  Only about 10% of the plastic bottles purchased in the U.S. ever make it to recycling.  This has little to do with where people are disposing of them and everything to do with the fact that there is no market for the plastic.  China was our biggest purchaser of plastic bottles until they realized that they were creating a water problem of their own by dumping the toxic runoff of recycling into their water supply.  Most of the plastics that have been cleaned,  separated and neatly placed in blue recycling containers don’t ever make it past the dump.  

So… now that you  know that water without minerals is BAD for your health and you understand commercially bottled water is not good for your health, your wallet or your planet,  are you really going to continue drinking it?   If your answer is “yes”, I’m just wondering if you’ve considered counseling for your addiction?

It May Not Be In Your Head But It Could Be In Your Brain!

Did you know that if your brain is dehydrated by as little as 1% you LOSE 10% brain capacity? With epidemic issues like Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, ADD, ADHD, depression, etc. you SHOULD sit up and take notice of the importance of PROPER hydration.

It is reported that 75% of America is walking around CHRONICALLY dehydrated. Stinky Feet…There is More Than One Reason to RUN!

Have you ever smelled “stinky feet” on an airplane?  Before you ask the flight attendant to move you to another seat READ THIS!

Engine oil fumes can contaminate the cabin and flight deck air supply systems on  any commercial plane.  It is very important to limit your exposure because the fumes are highly toxic and can cause both acute and chronic health problems.

These toxic fumes don’t necessarily smell like oil.   Many people think they smell like “stinky feet” while others describe this toxic smell like “old cheese” or “wet dog”.  The important thing to remember is that these odors are not “normal” inside of an airplane and, although they are extremely toxic, the flight crew will not inform or warn you (for liability reasons).

Exposure to neurotoxins is serious business that leads to potentially serious neurological health problems.   Symptoms of neurotoxicity are often misdiagnosed because neurotoxic exposure is not understood, reported or considered in diagnostic testing.   Symptoms of exposure often “mimic” Fibromyalgia, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, dementia, depression and many more.

A neurotoxin is any substance capable of interfering with the normal function of nervous tissue, causing irreversible cellular damage and/or resulting in cellular death

A friend of mine has been a pilot for a major airline for many years and knows first hand the consequences of neurotoxic syndrome.  This Captain smelled the “stinky feet” and knew immediately what had taken place.  The plane was landed safely but my friend was so overcome by the toxins that a wheelchair was needed just to exit this pilot (and crew) off of the plane.  Fortunately my friend was aware of her exposure so after years of detoxing and natural remedies to remove toxins and repair damage this pilot is back in the air again.  Had mainstream medical been called in, the diagnosis would most likely have been MS.

This pilot still wonders (and worries) about the passengers on that flight and how many of them were stricken with a chronic “condition” with no knowledge of their toxic exposure.  Most were probably too busy complaining about “stinky feet”  to realize that they had just been poisoned.

Forget The Root Cause…Let’s Radiate The Brain!

The World Health Organization reports that 350 million people worldwide suffer from depression.  The National Institute of Mental Health reports that 34 million of these cases are happening in the United States.  Children as young as 6 years old are being treated with antidepressants.  They also estimate that 2/3 of people suffering with depression never seek treatment.  The numbers are staggering.  What’s going on????

Unfortunately modern medicine treats patients like human guinea pigs by prescribing first one drug and then another.  God forbid they should consider the root cause of the problem.  But then again, why in the world would they do that when there is so much money to be made with treatment?

Don’t look now but depression is about to get a lot more lucrative for the medical world!  In addition to the 142 antidepressants available to prescribe, the latest trend is a brain CT scan that claims to “detect  abnormalities” in the brain so that they are able to narrow down drug options and prescribe “the right one” from the start.  With 142 meds to chose from it must be very challenging to go through that process of elimination to find the ideal drug.    This “new technique” is projected to reach $2.7 billion dollars a year in revenue  in the US alone.  With  numbers like that don’t expect your doctor to waste energy looking for a root cause!

You think we have problems with depression now?  Its about to get a whole lot worse.  CT scans emit 10 times more radiation than x-ray options and they are know to drastically increase the change of brain tumors.  Now THAT’S something to be depressed about!  Isn’t that typical of the modern medical approach?   When all else fails lets radiate!

Depression is a very real problem but we need to get to the root cause instead of rushing out to fill prescriptions or having our brains radiated in hopes of narrowing down prescriptions.   Did you know that just being dehydrated or having a chronic vitamin D deficiency can cause severe depression?  I’m pretty sure your doctor won’t bother tell you that.  After all, its “free advice”.

There has been an astounding increase in prescribed antidepressants in America in the last 10 years.  Today 1 in 10 people are  taking at least one antidepressant while 5% of children between the ages of 12-19 are on antidepressant medications.  Although I respect the need for medications in viable cases, there is something desperately wrong when so many people need prescription antidepressants.

A new study shows that even mild dehydration can influence mood, energy levels and the ability to think clearly.  Hmm…sounds a lot like mild depression symptoms.

Unfortunately, most people use thirst as an indicator for when we need to drink — a response that experts say is too little too late to avoid many of the detrimental effects of dehydration….including depression.

Mild dehydration is defined as an approximately 1.5 percent loss in normal water volume in the body.  Did you know that if you are even 1% dehydrated you lose 10% brain capacity?

The take home message is that individuals need to stay hydrated at all times, not just during exercise, extreme heat or exertion.  Your body and your BRAIN need to be properly hydrated.

In order to stay properly hydrated, experts recommend that individuals drink AT LEAST eight, 8-ounce glasses of water a day, which is approximately 2 liters of water….your coffee, tea, soft drinks and/or alcohol don’t count.  NOTHING takes the place of water.   Correction…nothing takes the place of pure, ionized, alkaline, micro-clustered KANGEN water.
