When Pleasure Outweighs the Pain…

Almost every choice we make in life is motivated by one of two powerful forces….the desire for pleasure and the fear of pain.  Although we say that we don’t want to feel pain if we can help it,  the prevailing force for many is the desire for pleasure regardless of the pain that comes with it.  This explains a lot when it comes to health and wellness.

How many times have I heard “there is no way I’m giving up my sodas” even when I’ve had the opportunity to scientifically demonstrate the dangers associated with their habit?   It doesn’t seem to matter that there will be a long-term price to pay or that their health will eventually be lost because of it.  They’re living for the moment and they chose pleasure over pain almost every time.  Undoubtedly they are addicted to their pleasure (and their sodas).

How many times have I heard “I’m not giving up the convenience of bottled water even when I’ve had the opportunity to scientifically demonstrate the dangers associated with the pleasure that comes with their need for convenience?  It doesn’t seem to matter that there will be a long-term price to pay or that their health will eventually surrender because of it.  They are living in the “fast lane” and they choose the pleasure of convenience over the pain almost every time….regardless of the consequences to their health or weight (and the environment.)

The next generation is suffering because of the pleasure choices we continue to make – exposure to radiation, pesticides, GMO’s, BPA, Aspartame, etc., are just a few of the things that are causing a lot of pain for the next generation.  Whether you can see it or feel it yet is not relevant.…you (and your family) will ultimately pay the price for your pleasure-driven health decisions.  When things like autism, arthritis, kidney disease or cancer strike your family don’t say I didn’t warn you.

There is an old saying that goes like this. – “no pain…no gain”.  Nothing could be truer when it comes to making wise decisions about your health.

Isn’t it time you set aside your pleasures to protect your health and the health of your family for generations to come?

  • You might miss the pleasure you get from a bottle of soda but you’ll be avoiding pain later on and your body will thank you for it!
  • You may suffer with a little inconvenience by refilling your water bottle with water that’s actually GOOD for you,  but you’ll get used to it eventually and your body will thank you for it!
  • You might feel the pain of having to read food labels and look up all of those words you don’t understand but you’ll learn in time and your body will thank you for it!

Will you continue to chose your reckless pleasure over the painful consequences and roll-the-dice on your health or are you ready for a little pain that comes with healthy change?

Sleep Apnea On The Rise & $10 Billion Behind it! What’s Going On?

Sleep study clinics are popping up all across America.  Today there are almost 3,000 clinics with hundreds more in the works for certification and approval to do sleep disorder diagnostics.

A few short years ago we’d never even heard of sleep apnea and yet millions of people weren’t mysteriously dying in their sleep (as we’re led to believe will happen). Today it is reported that 5% of Americans suffer with some sort of serious sleep disorder (with “many more not yet diagnosed”).   What in the world is going on?

The Mayo Clinic defines sleep apnea this way:

Causes of obstructive sleep apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea occurs when the muscles in the back of your throat relax. These muscles support the soft palate, the triangular piece of tissue hanging from the soft palate (uvula), the tonsils, the side walls of the throat and the tongue.

When the muscles relax, your airway narrows or closes as you breathe in, and you can’t get an adequate breath in. This may lower the level of oxygen in your blood. Your brain senses this inability to breathe and briefly rouses you from sleep so you can reopen your airway. This awakening is usually so brief that you don’t remember it.

Now that we understand the definition of sleep apnea and how this disorder blocks the airways, etc.,  aren’t you even a little bit curious about what causes it in the first place?

For a short season, sleep apnea was considered to be a condition (almost exclusively) of overweight, middle-aged men.  Today we have sleep study facilities exclusively for young children…overweight and otherwise. Clearly this isn’t just a problem of overweight, middle-aged men.  We’ve got a serious problems!

I’m not a physician and I don’t attempt to give medical advice; I’m just a common-sense-kind-of-gal.  In this case, my common sense is thirsting for the root cause of this mysterious 21st century medical condition defined as sleep apnea.

COMMON SENSE?

I believe that your complex CPAP breathing unit is serving you well by forcing air into your airway (masking your symptoms) but it sure isn’t helping you identify the root cause of your problem.  The “mainstream medical” community has become experts at masking symptoms with pharmaceuticals and treatments for everything that ails you.  When we can’t put a label on your problem, there’s no need to worry.  We’ll write a prescription for depression and/or a narcotic for pain.   Personally I’d rather know what’s causing my problem in the first place so that I can (hopefully) correct it INSTEAD of managing (and masking)  my symptoms. Darn! There goes my common sense again!

A SIMPLE SOLUTION?

I routinely work with people of all ages on dehydration-related health issues. I introduce a hydration protocol using  lots of ionized, alkalized, electrically charged, healthy water (versus tap, bottled or R/O) and we evaluate changes that they experience as they begin to re-hydrate the body AND oxygenate the cells after years of chronic dehydration with the wrong kind of fluids.  Time and time again I’ve heard amazing reports back that include the following:

  • People no longer snoring (spouses confirm!)
  • No more sleep apnea –  no more need for CPAP (Dr. confirmations)

The typical prescribed fix for apnea is a continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) machine that pumps pressurized air through a face-mask, forcing the user to breathe throughout the night. Prices for the machines range from less than $200 to more than $5000, with an estimated US market of about $10 billion annually.

NO WAY TO AVOID IT!

Nothing on the planet (in spite of creative advertising efforts) replaces the body’s need for lots of healthy water.  You can’t fill a fish tank with Diet Coke and expect your fish to live nor can you water your plants with Energy drinks and expect them to grow.  So why do you think that there are viable replacements for water for the human body?  Hmm…

Contrary to popular belief, not all water is created equal.  If you want to experience a healthy turn-around, you’ll need healthy water that is structured in such a way that your body can  absorb it at the cellular level the way it is intended to do!  It takes serious water to do that job!

Hydrate your airways (and all of the rest of you) and see what happens!  You never know…you just might be able to retire your CPAP contraption AND keep a happy spouse all at the same time!

It May Not Be In Your Head But It Could Be In Your Brain!

Did you know that if your brain is dehydrated by as little as 1% you LOSE 10% brain capacity? With epidemic issues like Alzheimer’s, dementia, autism, ADD, ADHD, and depression, you SHOULD sit up and take notice of the importance of PROPER hydration before it’s too late!

It is reported that 75% of America is walking around CHRONICALLY dehydrated – despite consuming 1500 bottles of commercially bottled water EVERY SECOND in the USA!  Just imagine how many bottles we’d consume IF we were remaining hydrated!

Somehow we’ve convinced ourselves that we can easily (and safely) replace the need for water by swapping it out for another drink-of-choice.  That should come as no surprise since our physicians replaced “drink plenty of water” with “drink plenty of fluids” years ago.   Don’t kid yourselves…THEY KNOW nothing replaces the body’s need for water.  If they didn’t I.V. bags would be full of your drink-of-choice instead of purified water.  If you want to REGAIN or SUSTAIN your health, you NEED plenty of water. Although you may not die of thirst if you continue to consume fluids of one kind or another; you WILL pay the ultimate price with your health for not drinking healthy water.

Your brain (and all of the rest of you) needs water. In fact, water is the most important nutrient for the human body!  So, if water is that important to the body, don’t you think that the quality of the water is equally important?  

Most of us care more about the quality of our wine than we do about the quality of our water.   There is something very sad and very bizarre about that thought process.

No doubt Americans DO need to hydrate the brain.  It seems like we’ve forgotten some pretty basic things about health and the human body.

Outbreak of Measles…a Day of Reckoning?

In 1998, British medical researcher Andrew Wakefield published a study claiming that the MMR vaccination caused children to show signs of “regressive autism.”  Since we were experiencing autism at alarming rates, Wakefield sent the world into a tail spin and the ultimate immunization blame game began.

Although Wakefield was eventually cited for misconduct for his “reckless reporting” (and charged with abuse of developmentally challenged children) and in spite of the fact that no other scientist has ever been able to duplicate his results; his claims have had a lasting impact on the way parents address childhood medical care. It is reported that only about 1/2 of all Americans believe that vaccines are safe at all.

Today we’re starting to see things like Measles and TB rear their ugly heads and the parents that have opted-out of immunizing their children are getting a lot of pressure to rethink their position.

I’m beyond having to worry about young children and immunizations but I doubt that I would opt-out of everything if given a choice.  I still remember people in leg braces from polio and I know that people can die from complications to Measles. Personally, I believe that immunizations can be the straw that broke the camel’s back to a child already ridden with toxins.

I DO believe that it is our right to make safe and healthy decisions about what’s right for our own families and I DO believe that children are worth fighting for.  I just wonder how far we’re willing to go to guard the health of our children beyond the battle over immunizations?

Whether we agree on shots being a factor in autism or not we CAN agree on the fact that autism is a toxicity issue.  Toxicity that began long before conception.    Reducing Environmental Cancer risk (an NIH report from 2008/2009) warns us that both male and female need to detox of all contaminants at least 6 months prior to conception.  Clearly we already know that toxins are impacting our DNA!    Autism should come as no surprise.

I can’t help but wonder how many people would ever have kids if they knew that they’d be seriously inconvenienced (God forbid) before parenthood!

Are you willing to avoid things like BPA at all costs?

Are you willing to eat fresh (locally grown) organic food instead of convenient, time-saving processed foods?

Are you willing to avoid toxic cleaning products and stop using harmful pesticides in your yard?

Are you willing to nix the soda and dramatically increase your water intake so that you body actually has a chance to detox?

Are you willing to invest in a long-term healthy (non-toxic) water option even if it does cost you a little bit to do it?

If you answered “No” to any of these questions then stop pointing fingers at immunizations.  If you aren’t willing to fight the entire toxicity problem then you might want to pick another battle.  It’s a day of reckoning.

Norman Bates is a Chump! This is Something to Really be Afraid of!

This shower scene from Alfred Hitchcock’s classic movie “Psycho” was so frightening that it kept people awake at night and caused lots of people to change their shower habits for fear that Norman Bates would pay them a visit too.  One scene in one movie scared people silly and provoked them to make changes!

That was just a movie.  The following real-life list should scare the stew out of EVERYONE and it should provoke you to make changes to avoid danger too:

1 in every 2 males will get cancer at some point in their lifetime

1 in every 3 females will get cancer at some point in their lifetime

1 in every 5 people will get Alzheimer’s by the age of 65

1 in every 50 children have autism

I’ve got my boxing gloves on and I’m fighting back with everything I’ve got! Norman Bates wouldn’t stand a chance with me!   When are you going to WAKE UP, GLOVE UP and FIGHT BACK?  It’s time to take responsibility for your own health and the health of the next generation(s).  Ignoring the threats don’t make them go away no more than ignoring Norman Bates would have made him disappear.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you aren’t invincible.   It doesn’t make sense for you to sit back fat, dumb and happy while expecting to have some medical miracle  “fix” you when you face your own diagnosis.  Modern medicine has NO CURE for any of the these things!   I’m assuming that you’d muster up the courage to fight back if you had an encounter with Norman Bates?   Maybe not.  You’re obviously pretty complacent when it comes to real danger.

There is one very simple change that can have a profound impact on your health and that can get you off on the right track in your FIGHT for health and wellness.  This change is so simple that most people don’t “get it”.  This simple change is 70% of the necessary protocol for your good health!  Without it you die.   Without the right change you rot.   This change addresses THE MOST VITAL  NUTRIENT for the human bodywater.

Change your water source IMMEDIATELY and drink LOTS of it!  Reverse osmosis water (includes most bottled water) is just as harmful to the human body as chemically treated tap water and the BPA is killing you (slow but sure).
