Are You A Heavy Drinker? I Hope So!

Image result for heavy water drinker imagesNearly 50 years ago, now famous, Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj (respectfully nicknamed “Dr. Batman”), re-discovered an ancient knowledge that he later backed up with his own research – that water can naturally heal us from diseases like high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma, autoimmune disorders, diabetes and migraines using what he calls: water therapy.

Born in Iran in 1931, Dr. Batmanghelidj, graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University, where he studied under Nobel Prize winner, Sir Alexander Fleming.

batmanWhen Dr. Batman returned to Iran he was imprisoned as a political prisoner for over 2 1/2 years.  While imprisoned,  he “accidentally” discovered the healing powers of water and successfully treated 3,000 fellow inmates suffering from stress-induced peptic ulcer disease using water.  In 1983 Dr. Batman went on to report his remarkable findings in the Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology.  Unfortunately, his theories were not taken seriously within the medical community…until now.

According to Dr. Batman, the body’s natural need for water is often mistaken for signs and symptoms of other illnesses. Could it be that the concept of “proper hydration” is being overlooked and misdiagnosed today?

Over our lifespan, we gradually become chronically dehydrated.  Did you know that the most notable comment on the autopsy of someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s is a “chronically dehydrated brain”?  That’s enough to inspire anybody to be a heavy drinker…of simple water, that is!

As we age, we lose our natural sense of thirst – why drink water when we aren’t feeling thirsty, right? WRONG!  We’re (generally) 90% water at birth and 40% water when we die. If we treat the root problem aka chronic dehydration, we may be able to avoid unnecessary and invasive procedures and medications.

That should be enough to inspire everybody to be a heavy drinker!

Today we’re becoming more and more aware of the body’s need to be sufficiently hydrated and more and more research is being done to “back up” what Dr. Batman reported 50 years ago.

Dr. Dana Cohen, a functional medicine doctor, suggests that one of the missing links in treating health problems today comes down to proper hydration….with water, that is.  It’s time to become a heavy drinker!

Furthermore, Dr. Cohen reports that MOST people are at least partially dehydrated. That should come as no surprise if we don’t believe it’s necessary to drink unless we’re “feeling” thirsty while we replace water with an acidic and/or sugary drink of choice instead of what the body is “crying” for.

If we used that same strategy with vehicles, we’d only add fluids when the warning light comes on and we’d dump our “fluid of choice” into the oil tank instead of the oil that it really needs to function.  Your vehicle would die almost immediately – it takes a little while longer for the body to succumb to lack of fluids…and the wrong fluid replacement “therapy.”

According to Dr. Cohen, insufficient hydration may be associated with fatigue, “brain fog,” constipation, colon cancer, bladder cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, type 2 diabetes, and many other disorders. Water’s presence in cartilage and skin suggests that dehydration might also be a factor in joint discomfort and skin dryness. Unhealthy food, certain medications, artificially heated and air-conditioned environments, and more share a lot of the blame.”

It’s time to become a HEAVY DRINKER whether you’re feeling thirsty or not and it’s time to make WATER your drink of choice…the first thing in the morning…and all throughout the day.

The body speaks for itself in one way or another and if you decide to deprive it until your warning lights come on, you’ll pay the price in countless ways…” fatigue…brain fog…constipation…colon cancer…bladder cancer…inflammatory bowel disease…type 2 diabetes…and a host of other disorders.”
