Labor Day and the Next Generation

In 1911 this 7 year-old “newsie” often delivered newspapers from early morning until 8:00 PM

One Hundred years later…are our young people as eager to work?

The only thing that sets Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffet, Donald Trump, Mark Zuckerberg, Martha Stewart, Oprah Winfrey and a multitude of other immensely successful people apart from you and me is their willingness to do what other people aren’t willing to do so that they could accomplish what most people never will.   Most of the people on this short list of entrepreneurs have an average IQ…most don’t hold a college degree and ALL of them have the same amount of time in a 24-hour day as you do.  They have created their own economy.

Don’t you think it’s about time that you create your own (personal) economy instead of hoping to nail the perfect job with a sweet retirement plan and benefits? Don’t look now but those days are long gone (in terms of employee benefits).  It has never been a better time to work for yourself than it is right now.   Hard work  always, always pays off!  Create your own retirement plan and buy your own benefits instead of waiting for somebody else to “give” them to you!

Keep in mind that hard work isn’t age specific!  Although Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg were practically still in diapers when they launched their businesses, Ray Kroc launched his McDonald’s empire when he was 59 years old.  At a time in life when most people start preparing to slow down, Ray Kroc took on a massive project and (I’m sure) worked harder than he’d ever worked in his entire life to create the McDonald’s brand that is known around the world today.

There’s no such thing as being too young or too old to be successful.  It all comes down to your belief and your willingness to make the effort!

I’m working on a global project that includes people from 18 to 80 years young.  They are very busy changing their future and they don’t let age hold them back.  They’re creating their own economy.  They inspire me.

If you (or someone you know) are unemployed or underemployed then we need to talk.  You can still look for that “dream job” if you want to…I’ll teach you how to create your own economy…the way they did in the “old days”.

Happy Labor Day

God Bless America!
