You may have your own notions about evolution and I’m not here to argue with you about it. However, attempting to justify early puberty with evolution is insane. Our kids aren’t “evolving”, they’re aging prematurely. As if that isn’t sad enough, we’re doing nothing about it.
We have a serious environmental problem that has been ignored for far too long and the next generation is paying the ultimate price for our ignorance. Some may excuse the fact that our little girls are “growing up too fast” but it isn’t as simple as a risqué wardrobe and worldly awareness. Our little girls are wearing bras and buying Tampons at an abnormally young age (some as young as 6 yrs). There is something drastically wrong.
We see it every day. Headlines about young girls having babies before they hit their teens. Young boys raping little girls at an age when little boys used to be too focused on sports to think about girls (with cooties). Their bodies are fighting back and if we don’t fight back on their behalf I fear for the future of generations to come.
What Are The “Experts Saying?
KidsHealth.org has this to say about Precocious Puberty:
Sometimes, precocious puberty stems from a structural problem in the brain (such as a tumor), brain injury due to head trauma, an infection (such as meningitis), or a problem in the ovaries or thyroid gland that triggers the onset of puberty ahead of schedule — but this usually isn’t the case.
For the majority of girls, there’s no underlying medical problem — they simply start puberty too early for no known reason.
Everyday Health Headlines Read Like This:
“More children are going through puberty at too-young ages, which is a condition called Precocious Puberty. Researches are still trying to figure out why”
The Answer is Right Under Our Nose!
We’ve had a daily dose of harmful BPA plastics in our world long enough now to be seeing the horrific results of routine exposure to endocrine disruptors. Simply put, endocrine disruptors are chemicals that DISRUPT HORMONES! This is what Wikipedia has to say about how our hormones are disrupted (through exposure to BPA/plastics):
What does it take to get the world to wake up and take notice of what’s happening to our children? Just say “no” to plastics OR you can continue to say “yes” to disrupted hormones along with a multitude of other problems.
Our biggest culprit of BPA comes from plastic water bottles. Americans spend billions of dollars each year buying bottled water in spite of being warned about he dangers. In fact, each American spends (on the average) of $640 a year on bottled water that is wreaking havoc on our health and the health and hormones of our children. A perfect example of socially acceptable child abuse.
If you’re so concerned about drinking healthy water then you should be taking serious steps to improve your own water source instead of throwing worthless water housed in dangerous plastic at your family and calling it “good”. This is one word of advice that even the U.S. government offers. God forbid that you should be inconvenienced by ionizing your own water instead of tossing your plastic bottle to be somebody else’s problem down the road.
What do you say? Is the child in your life worth healthy changes? Before you answer that, remember that actions speak louder than words.
